What is FIT Wellness?

We offer affordable membership to access our world class facility conveniently available from 4 AM to 12 midnight all year round. You can access our complete line of cardio and strength equipment along with the running tracks and turf and even our half court basketball for a fun game of one on one using keyless access control day and night.  We also provide a senior citizen maintenance program with the aim to promote healthy living for this age group designed only by Physical Therapists that includes proper medical screening that assures a safe way towards healthy lifestyle through group exercise.  Lastly, we have a developing program specifically for special needs children.  We have partnered with Burlington Township Middle and High School for our facility as an extension of their physical education classes.

We also offer post-rehabilitation training for athletes recovering from sports-related surgeries or injuries, including those who suffered from concussion.  This unique program is designed for patients who have been discharged from formal physical therapy, but are not yet ready to return to unrestricted activity due to healing constraints along with deficits in strength, neuromuscular control, and athletic function.  Our Board Certified Orthopedic PT Specialist will focus on diagnosis, treatment, accelerated injury recovery and prevention while working closely with our coaches to ensure a secure and safe environment during training sessions.  Recovering athletes will benefit from the combined knowledge and experience of rehab and coaching staff, utilizing specific protocol that gradually increases activity level and eventually sport-specific skill and simulation allowing them to return to their sport safely and effectively.

Concussion awareness and prevention is an important issue in youth sports today as it affects the health and well-being of children participating in all sports, and at all levels.  This is a free educational training course open to all youth coaches and parents of kids in sports sponsored by FIT.  This program is designed to provide valuable information on concussions and add knowledge regarding concussion safety.

This course will help you:

  • Understand a concussion and the potential consequences of this injury,
  • Recognize concussion signs and symptoms and how to respond,
  • Learn about steps for returning to activity (play and school) after a concussion, and
  • Focus on prevention and preparedness to help keep athletes safe season-to-season.
  • Assessments

All FIT athletes enrolled in our programs (except in Preseason Sports Camps) receive a total structural/ functional screening by our Therapists and Coaches, used to reveal areas of strengths and imbalances that may pose higher risk of injury.  They will also go through a series of physical tests (20 yard dash, pro-agility shuttle test, vertical and broad jump, sit-ups, push-ups, submaximal strength among others) to individualize their training experience and determine the most suitable periodization program: (Focused FIT, Precise FIT and Personal 1V1).  Goals are set by the coach, athlete and parents to ensure achievement of the highest possible level of performance.

  • Evaluations

Every athlete begins with an evaluation that will reveal their weaknesses, imbalances, strengths and basic movement abilities to then be able to individualize their training experience according to specific needs and goals. Evaluations will include a structural/functional screen and the following tests: 20 yd dash, T agility run, long jump, high jump, push-ups, sit-ups. The structural/functional screen will look for deficits in strength, flexibility and motor control and be used to create the personalized training plan for each athlete. Additional anthropometric measurements and task analysis of specific sport will be assessed for college/elite level. There will be a retest every 6 weeks of training to assess progress. For levels of 12 years of age and older, goals will be set by the athlete and coach to ensure achievement of the highest level of performance. Each athlete will have a file which may be accessible to the athlete and to the coach during each session to follow their specific program parameters. Training Session Structure Every session will begin with a 15-20 minute dynamic warm-up. It will be followed by a speed/agility or power/plyometric 20-35 minute session, a 20-35 minute strength session and a 5-10 minute cool down. Each athlete will be following their individual intensity level within the session, according to their personalized training plan.

    • Dynamic Warm-up: dynamic stretching, core strengthening
    • Speed/Agility Session: running mechanics, linear and multi-directional movement velocities and acceleration, reactive abilities, speed endurance
    • Power/Plyometric Session: explosiveness, rate of force development, power endurance, balance
    • Strength Session: functional strength, proper mechanics, force production,
    • Cool-down: static stretching
  • Team Training

Designed to help coaches maximize their team’s speed, agility, mechanics, strength, power and endurance while minimizing injury and building team unity.  Specialists will evaluate athletes and report back to the coach with team’s common strengths and imbalances. Training can be in our facility or our coaches will travel to yours.  Each team program is created according to individual team’s needs.
